Bargain Basement Items:
Most orders are shipped within 1-2 business days after the order is placed (special order items such as laser systems require 3-4 weeks for build & shipment). This is to allow all credit card transactions to be fully authorized and credited. We use USPS and all orders are shipped with a signature confirmation required, so someone will have to sign for the package. Priority mail will be used for the shipment of any accessories, optics kits or optics valued at more than $100. Less expensive or very small items will be shipped using 1st class mail with signature confirmation.
Although we will always ask for a signature confirmation on international packages as well, many countries do not provide this option through their postal system or require, so for international orders, please follow the tracking progress and schedule to be at the delivery address on the delivery date.
Optotronics is not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in transit and the purchaser agrees to and assumes all responsibility for their package from the time it is shipped, unless the purchaser adds shipping insurance to their order.
Warranty and Repair:
If an item does not specify a warranty period in it's product description (excluding bargain bin items (see below)), the warranty is limited to 7 days after delivery.
Any product that fails under normal use within the covered warranty period will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Optotronics. Exclusions from warranty coverage include any physical damage to the product, including but not limited to; damage due to dropping or shock, water damage, damage caused by exceeding the operating voltage, using any probes to measure voltage or current of the device, or applying any external power source. Any remaining warranty or extended warranty period is voided by disassembly, removal of tamper evident labels or modifications to the product.
For warranty work, shipping to Optotronics is paid by the customer and shipping to the manufacturer if needed and back to the customer is paid by Optotronics.
If out of warranty work or repair is needed, the customer pays all shipping to and from Optotronics and repair costs.
The 1st day of the warranty coverage period is the day that the product is delivered to you. The warranty period is not "reset" if a product requires any repair or replacement during the warranty period.
Any out of warranty repairs not paid for within 60 days of payment request may be sold to cover repair costs.
Product warranty and any extended warranty are non-transferable from the original purchaser.
Normally all sales are final, we don't allow "free tryouts or demos of our products".
It is in your best interest to do your research regarding the suitability of any product you require for your particular application before placing an order.
Under special circumstances we will issue a refund to you within 72 hours of delivery, this is at our discretion.
If a refund is issued it will have a 20% "restock fee" as well as all of the related shipping costs.
Any free, bonus or promotional items and documents.
Once a product is sold, it's a used item and as such, it loses some of it's value.
The restock fee is to cover this lose of value and our associated with testing, packaging and shipping the order.
Unless mentioned in the item's product description, there is no warranty either expressed or implied on any products in this area and are all sold "AS IS".
