Terms of Product Use:

Laser modules on this site are classified as OEM laser components in accordance with 21 CFR (code of Federal Regulations) 1040.10 and 1040.11.

High powered laser modules of >5mW output, are not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age and are for professional use only.

Only Class IIIA (<5mW) Lasers are for general laser pointer use.
Class IIIB (>5mW) are sold for industrial, professional and research use only.
The purchaser is fully responsible for the safe incorporation of these components into their finished product design and use.

It is the buyers responsibility to conform to all local regulations and guidelines in applying this component to your finished product.

Lasers are not toys, care & safety precautions will be taken when using lasers.
Never point a laser at a moving vehicle or aircraft, pointing a laser at aircraft is a serious felony in the United States.
Never point a laser at reflective surfaces.
Never use a laser to startle someone.
I will always be careful and use a high level safety and forethought when operating these products.

The seller assumes no responsibility for the misuse of this component and or any damages caused by any misuse, which becomes the full responsibility of the buyer at the point of sale.

Completing a purchase of our products constitutes an agreement to all of the above terms of use and conditions.

Shipping:
Most items are in stock (unless marked otherwise) and are shipped the next business day.

We try to keep most products in stock at all times; however if we do not happen to have the item you order in stock. We will notify you right away with a estimated time of shipment. You will then be given the option to cancel the order if you wish.

Warranty repairs:
Any product that fails under normal use within the covered warranty period will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Optotronics. Exclusions from warranty coverage include any physical damage to the product, including but not limited to; damage due to dropping or shock, water damage, damage caused by exceeding the operating voltage, using any probes to measure voltage or current of the device, or applying any external power source. Any remaining warranty or extended warranty period is voided by disassembly, removal of tamper evident labels or modifications to the product.

For warranty work, shipping to Optotronics is paid by the customer and shipping to the manufacturer if needed and back to the customer is paid by Optotronics.
If out of warranty work or repair is needed, the customer pays all shipping to and from Optotronics and repair costs.

The 1st day of the warranty coverage period is the day that the product is delivered to you. The warranty period is not "reset" if a product requires any repair or replacement during the warranty period.

Product warranty and any extended warranty are non-transferable from the original purchaser.

Refunds:
Normally all sales are final, we don't allow "free tryouts or demos of our products".
It is in your best interest to do your research about the output power you require for your particular application before ordering.
Under special circumstances we will issue a refund to you within 72 hours of delivery, this is at our discretion.

If a refund is issued it will have a 20% "restock fee" as well as all of the shipping costs.
We don't really restock the item though as it can no longer be sold as a "New" unit.
Once it's sold, it's a used unit and loses some of it's value, the restocking fee is to cover this lose of value.
I'm sure you wouldn't want to buy a laser product that someone else had opened, used and then sent back, right?

You pay for a new product and that's what you get with Optotronics.
